6 month
6 month stats & doctor appointment:
Oh gosh, this girl hates going to the doctor & getting shots. She will start to throw a fit when the doctor is examining her. So you can only image how she is by the time the nurse gives her shots. Geez...Anyhow, the doc said everything looks good & she is a healthy baby. We will see her back at 9 months

Was sleeping with us in the bed for awhile, but now back in her crib & we plan to keep it that way Only sleeps on her stomach (angle care monitor has been a blessing. I'm not as worried)
Sleeping a whole lot better
Staring to scoot or push off while on the floor.
We bought her a walker, but she only goes backwards
Has started to throw fits & will throw herself backwards

Perfect Night
…….it only took almost 6 months.
After dinner I read a very special book to Ava. It was a Dr. Seuss book that belonged to her grandma (Ryan's mom). It was given to Rebecca in 1964 for her 8th birthday & now belongs to our sweet Ava (Thanks to her Oklahoma Family, Uncle Press & Aunt Debbie). I think Ava really enjoyed it. She looked at all the pictures, but wanted to grab the book & stick it in her mouth. Once she started to get a little fussy & uninterested I knew it was bed time. I gave her a bottle & laid her in the crib still awake. I gave her the pacifier & patted her on the back then walked out of her room. After just a few minute she was out. It was only 7:30. So I had time to run & enjoy an evening with Ryan. I was worried she would wake up in the middle of the night, but nope - nothing. Ava slept through the whole night - not a peep. I didn’t get up once to give her the pacifier or pat her back to bed. Then I woke up to the sweet sounds of her on the monitor about 5:40. She was just babbling to herself & even gave me time to get ready for work. Ahhhh I feel so refreshed today!! I hope this continues.

Fathers Day
Well Ryan didn’t want to make a big deal about it, so therefore I didn’t. His thoughts were, she won’t remember this one. Boo….Debbie Downer. So I only made him a card from Kodak Gallery with pictures of him & Ava.
Gramps (my dad) –personal Ava card & mouse pad
Grandpa (Ryan’s dad) – personal Ava card & coffee mug

Lazy Fathers Day
No tears
This past weekend (extended weekend Thurs – Sun) was our 1st time away from our sweet Ava. We went to the river with college friends. Mimi & gramps watched her, so I know she was in great hands. I couldn’t wait to get back home on Sunday. I woke Ryan up early & even drove back home just to get there fast. I wanted to be unpacked, pick up around the house, & get a little bit of groceries before mom & dad brought Ava home.
When they got to the house I met them in the front yard. I was so excited to see & squeeze Ava. I swear she looks longer & thinner. I think she was even happy to see us. She buried her little head in my shoulder & hugged me.
***Mom & dad even broke her habit of sleeping in the bed. They made her sleep in her pack n play. So last night I stayed strong & put her down in her crib. She slept there the whole night. Only woke up once and made a little noise looking for her pacifier.***

Weekend high & low
High - We officially asked Mary & Chava Guerrero to be Ava's Godparents. We are so happy they accepted! Now let the planning begin….
Low - Our poor little Ava is teething and is very fussy. I can feel & even see her bottom front left incisor coming in. She had such a bad night last night. Couldn't sleep & started running a fever of 101.5 about 3am.

Whose been sleeping in my bed....
Ava has!! I know it's a terrible habit to start, but Ava was never a good sleeper to begin with & since she slept with me while she was sick, she has become use to it. Plus we like the full night sleep. I'm not very strict about it during the week day because we are all sleeping better. She never wakes up. So mommy & daddy get a great night sleep. However, on the weekend (if we are home) we are a little more strict on making her sleep in her crib. I have a 3 time rule. The 3rd time I have to stick the pacey in her mouth or pat her back to sleep she comes to bed with me. I actually don’t mind anymore & love to wake up to her cute little face.
When she is a little older & I feel better about letting her Cry It Out, we will try that approach. But for now we are all very happy with our little Ava in bed with us. Well maybe not dad…haha! Sometimes he chooses to sleep in the extra bedroom.
