Nathan's 6 Month Check Up
Weight: 20lbs 13oz (97.49%)
Height: 26.75inces (77.07%)
Head: 17.75inches (97.25%)
Check Up: He got 3 shots & a oral at 6 month check-up (was a little early). Doc also checked his left to see if ear infection is clearing up. All looks good! She is happy with his progress and he is growing consistently on the charts. She did mention he was a strong boy and had abs of steal. haha! he kept pushing back at everything she was doing and wont lay down when she wanted to examine him.
About Nathan: My little man is growing too fast. I feel like he is doing everything sooner than Ava did. He is rolling all over the place, pushing his self back when on his belly, almost sitting up without assistance, standing and bounceing in our lap. He LOVES to watch his sister. He is sleeping through the night (expect when he had ear infection or when Ryan has the house freezing at night). He has found his voice and just babbles away. Ava waill say, "whats he talking about" or "who is he talking to". He loves to pull on his toes. We have added a few nic-names: Brosive Osive, rolly polly and Pop Belly Nixon. This boy LOVES to eat! He has 5-6oz bottles a day, stage 2: fruit/cereal combo for breakfast, veggie for lunch and fruit/veggie combo for dinner.
God I can't get enought of him!

Teams of Tomorrow
Ava has started T.O.T’s – Teams of Tomorrow at her school. It focuses on fundamentals and creative basketball skills. I would
have NEVER thought of putting Ava in basketball. I mean I know NOTHING about
the sport and it is honestly my least favorite to watch. BUT at the start of
the school year when all the activities start up and the kids get a free trail
class at school Ava enjoyed TOTs the most. She came home with a wrist band. When
it was time for bath we cut it off AND she was devastated. She actually cried
and said, “Don’t cut it off. I want to play basketball”. We were shocked. So
after bath we taped it back on and I enrolled her the next day. So needless to
say, my daughter plays basketball. She will all school year long. They practice
every Tuesday for 45 minutes. She gets to wear her TOTs shirt to school that
day. They will have a winter spectacular and get to preform at a Rockets game
to show off their skills.

1st Ear Infection
We
have our 1st ever ear infection between both kids. Ava has never had
one.
Once we returned from vacation Nathan just wasn’t his self. He was still a very happy baby, but a little terd at times and couldn’t sleep well at night. I kept thinking it was teething, but Saturday I just knew it was something else. Friday night was horrible. He would not go down easy. He would actually fall asleep with me holding him, but when I laid him down he would wake up shortly afterwards crying. This happened 3-4 times. Then I finally gave him tylenol. Saturday he was fine during the day just fussy so I thought he was tired from not sleeping well. That night it was the same thing. So I looked up symptoms of ear infection and he had 5 of the 7: cold symptoms, crying and irritability, trouble sleeping/lying flat, tugging at ear and loss of appetite. He did not have a fever or ear drainage.
Sunday morning I took him to an Urgent Kids Care Clinic and sure enough he had the start of an ear infection. The doctor said we caught it pretty early…..early? I don’t want to know what a full on ear infection is then. So he is on an antibiotic for 10 days and getting lots of extra loving

Girl Time
We returned from vacation. Ryan took Nathan to school. Ava and I had a day full of Girl Time. We were non stop from grocery shopping, mall shopping, mall lunch (was hoping for sushi, but she wanted to ride on the carousel and I used that as leverage to eat all her food), hair cut (for Ava), pedi/mani and wrapped up the day with a dentist appointment for Ava.
Ava weights 39 lbs. Her teeth look great, just keeping an eye on her cross-bite. We will address if needed after big girl teeth come in.

Nathan is 5 Months
Weight: 20.8lbs (had a doc visit on 9/2 for running nose & eyes)
Clothing size: 9-12
Diaper: 4
Formula: 5 - 6oz bottles of enfamil infant a day (1-4oz bottle at night "if" really needing it) and food (has had apple sauce, bananas, pears, sweet potato, squash and green beans)
Health: this past month he has been sleeping with the humidifier just about every night. He has had a non stop runny nose which lead to eyes being swollen and releasing discharge. Daycare thought it was Pink Eye, but doc verified it was just lingering symptoms from runniy nose and will run its course.
Routine: up about 6 am, 3/4 small naps a day, 1 longer nap, bed by 7/7:30. Sleeping through the night some nights. example: slept great.every.night. on. vacation and others its horrible. He will wake up like 3 times. I think it might be his teething coming in.

South Padre Vacay
I just LOVE making memories with my family. I enjoy watching my parents spend quality time with my kids AND appreciate the extra hands while on vacation.
To wrap up Summer 2014 we took a trip to South Padre Island. Ryan, the kids and I flew while my parents and brother drove AND hauled all our stuff 6 hours. We stayed in an Ah-mazing condo: Sapphire Beach. It was the PERFECT setting with direct access to the beautiful beach. Everyone had a really good time! We all went to Schlitterbaughn, the guys golfed, Ava loved looking for seashells (we even took her late night to look for seashells) and the pool(s) were fab (Ava thought she was BIG stuff because she got to swim at night). ONLY issue we had on the trip was Ava got sunscreen in her eye and it swelled up. Poor baby, but it didnt slow her down one bit.
We will be visiting again!

This day she slept 12 hours from 6 to 6.

Ava was such a big girl at Schlitterbaughn. She rode on the big slides (I think my dad might have enjoyed them as much as she did), loved the kid area and getting splashed by the big water bucket.
