Movie Date

Sometimes when you spend all weekend hanging out with your brother, you need a break....

This was the case. Ava and Nathan had been bickering all weekend. I had enough of it so Ava and I enjoyed a date at the movies. Sometimes I think a break from each other is a good thing for these 2.  

Texas TOT - Volleyball

We put Ava in a Volleyball Program with Texas 1 Volleyball in our area. Its apart of the Teams of Tomorrow (TOTs) program that focuses on teaching VB basic movements as well as teaching the kids coordination and movement skills. It’s a 6 week program / 1 hour practice. So far she is enjoying it. She has the skills and height for this sport (she is the size of the 7yr olds in class). Hopefully she sticks with it.

Last Family Vacation for 2016

We had our last Family Vacation of 2016 in Galveston with my parents, brother and Augustine aka “chicle”. Ryan couldn’t made the trip last minute due to work. Sucked. We sure did miss him.

My parents booked an awesome place called Point West in nowhere land of Galveston. The resort was beautiful and had great accommodations minus the rattles snack habits scattered around. It was perfect to relax and spend 24/7 quality time. We played bingo, cards, rented movies, spent long days at the pool, out to the Strand for dinner/drink and went on a fishing trip. It was Ava’s 1^st. she wasn’t thrilled waking up at 4:30am but once on the boat was excited UNTIL we started going fast and hitting waves. Poor baby was a bit scared. Once we were at our fishing spot the sun was coming out and the fish we biting. We caught our first fish within minutes. Then Ava started to dolphin watch and got a little motion sick. At that point we decided to move in closer to land. Ava took a little cat nap and popped up 100% better. We started reeling in fish one after another. EVEN Ava! She wanted to mount it…lol. So much fun! Loved making memories with my sweet babies.

Home Visit

We once ah-gain spent a weekend in LP. It was a special weekend. Football season opener (Ryan and Gabe went to the game) and Mom and I went to JJ's rehab/church to celebrate his 6 months of sobriety. He also surprised us by signing up for another 6 months. 

He is doing so good! I'm so proud of him.  I cried tears of joy listening to him speak in front of the congregation. 

These next 6 months he will be a leader and have more leanincy. It was great having him home for a visit. The kids love him so much. I'm glad they see him healthy and happy. The old JJ I remember. 

Labor Day Weekend

We spent a long holiday weekend with my family. This visit was full of extended family fun. We had the Villa Fantasy Football Draft and a Labor Day Pool Party. The kids had a blast!!

Lunch with My Girl

I told Ava I was going to her school to eat lunch on Friday. All week she was asking about it, but I was just as excited.
I waited patiently in the hallway with all the other moms. I noticed Ava 1st. She was looking around for me and lit up when we made eye contact. Lunch was fast, no playing around. 30 minutes and that is it.
