15 months

My baby has turned into a little toddler. She amazes me every single day. I just love her!!! I swear I tell her every chance I get.
Size:
Clothes: 12 month tops/18months bottoms (12 month pants are too short)
Shoe: 4
Diaper: 4
New Vocab:
Move
More
T for Teddy
Shh (telling the neighbors dogs to shh)
Quack - like a duck
Still babbles, points a lot & screams. We are trying to sound words out to her & tell her what things are.
Favorite Foods:
Strawberries
Mac n Cheese
Fruit Loops
Trying to use the spoon more when eating
She will make the cutest little faces when she really like something & even lets out a mmm sound out.
Ava knows:
Where her belly, nose, eyes & ears are & can show you where yours are too.
What noise a duck makes.
We think she knows what color yellow is, but sometime she will come back with orange.
Ava loves:
To be outside running with me, grilling out with dad, riding on her little tikes car, playing on her little tikes castle, running around on the grass or bossing the dogs around.
To take a bath. Loves to splash the water & play with all her toys.
For us to chase her.
To help us (get in the way) unload the dish washer or fold clothes.
To dance
Ava hates:
Wearing shoes & socks
Putting clips & bows in her hair
Going on long drives if she is not tired
Ava can:
Drink from a straw
Brush or teeth (or tries). I still need to help her, but she insist on trying to do it herself.
Brush her hair (or tries)
Give the dogs their treats
Give high five
Wave Hi & Bye
Give you a kiss (will put her forehead to your mouth)
Give you a hug
For the most part she understand us when we tell her to do something (ex: go to daddy, give mama a kiss), go get something (ex: go get your blankie) & where is something (ex: where is your baby).
This month:
Ava was bit in the cheek at daycare :(. Poor baby! I got a call at work that Ava & a little girl were playing with a toy and the next minute the other little girl bit Ava. I had to sign an incident report and dont kid yourself, I had a talk with the director to ensure this wouldn't happen again. I dont want Ava to keep getting bit or worse pick up that habit. I know its was bound to happen, I just dont want it to continue. So I started watching Ava on the daycare cam again. I hadn't been for a while, but I will now.
She has her 15 month check up on Friday. I will post stats. I think she is still in the 80% for everything. I think she is pretty tall & we get told a lot that she is tall for her age.
I'm going to stop giving her a night time bottle. I plan to start fresh next Sunday. This is the only bottle she has all day. We have never tried to stop giving it to her. I think it is more me, I enjoy holding her while she drinks a bottle. I guess I'm selfishly holding onto that little aspect of Ava being my baby.

We love the mall

If we have a free weekend at home, Ryan & I always take Ava to the mall. She is a great little shopper & loves the mall. This trip we took pictures with the Easter bunny. It went way better then we expected.

Where did my baby go?

Yesterday we were enjoying a nice day outside when I realized how much Ava has grown. She looks like a little toddler now, not a baby anymore. Makes me sad, but we sure are enjoying her full night sleep and the ability to just pick up and go.

Future Flyer

Ava might just follow my foot steps and become a cheerleader. 1) She is loud 2) She loves for her daddy to flip her around 3) She is already mastering her flyer stance. She stays tight & gives a big smile.

I cant wait to put her in gymnastics or tumbling! I see mommy & me classes in our near future.

Taking over

Ava is officially taking over the house. It started off with a few toys here & there to a huge Little Tike's Castle in the middle of our living room. I'm pretty sure daddy's man room/study will turn into a play room pretty soon.

14 months

Our sweet - loud - bossy - crazy love bug is turning into a little person full of personality. I'm absolutely in love with this age. Ava is learning so much & her expressions are priceless. For example, we took her to The Rain Forest Café & she had a ball. She couldn't get enough of the fish. While we were eating dinner she would just look at all the animals & pointed or screamed/laughed with excitement. She got a kick out of the huge elephant that was next to our table. She wasn't scared one bit. We will definitely revisit!

We are down to 1 pacy in the crib at night
She is teething like crazy (the back teeth) & super fussy at times…I swear its like she is getting a full mouth of teeth.
I noticed she eats a lot better at daycare
- loves fruit & cheese
Drinks from a sippy cup all day & has a night time bottle
Eats snacks from a snack cup
Kinda of, sort of getting interested in cartoons
Has started to shut doors
Likes to be outdoors
Obsessed with balls - big, small, tennis, golf, boudreaux's...she sees it, she wants it & wont let it go. She even tried to take a tennis ball in her crib with her before bed.
Loves to crawl all over her dad
New vocab: bye, ball & mine

Feeling a lot better

Last week Ava was under the weather. It all started off with a slight cough, then terrible cough, fever, doctors visit, testing positive for strep (might be a carrier if she gets strep one more time with in a year of the last positive test - November), a shot of penicillin, a few days home with me & now she is all better. Now we are just dealing with teeth breaking in. Lucky us, huh. Ava went from 2 bottom teeth forever, to 4 teeth (2 bottom & 2 top), to 6 coming in all at once (2 upper, 1 lower & 3 molars).

The good news is she still seemed to sleep through with night being sick & now teething. Thank Goodness!
