9 Months

9 Month Stats.
Doctor appointment went well. She got the flu shot & check up.
Height: 28.11" (73.30%)
Weight:21lb 3oz (87.84%) still a little chunk
Head: 17.91" (89.12%)

Clothes size: 12 months
Shoe size: 2
Diaper size: 3
Bottles per day: we offer 1-4oz bottle before daycare & 4- 6oz bottles throughout the day. She typically drinks about 24oz a day.
Solids per day: we are trying to add more soft table foods to her meals. Our pediatrician said to try more. By 1 year she should be on all table food. I was super concerned because Ava still only has 2 bottom teeth, but the doc said she can mash with her gums. So I went out and bought every Gerber Toddler meal for Ava to try. We will see how it goes. I know Ravioli's were a hit (see picture).
Health: perfect health!
Routine: Weekdays - Ryan takes her to daycare by 7:30. She has breakfast by 8:30. Am snack & bottle. Then long nap @ 11 for 1.5 to 2 hours. Lunch about 2. Bottle about 4. I pick her up by 4:30. She takes a nap on the way home, sometimes until 5:30. Dinner. Bath. Bottle. Bed @ 8pm. We just pick up & go on the weekends. We let her lead. If she want to stay up later we let her & don’t mind. Just means she will sleep in later & that is great for us.
Sleep: sleeps with her mama! My mom is going to try & break this habit mid-Oct when she babysits for us while we are in Jamaica for a week. I can not do the CIO method. I'm a sucker & don’t like to see/hear her cry if she really doesn’t have to. She sleeps so good with me, but I know I need to get her in her crib. I will just let Mimi do all the hard work. We shall see….
Milestones: full blown crawler. Now trying to pull up on everything.

@ Ava:
I can finally clip a very small bow on her mohawk
She knows her name & will turn to you if you call her
She will look for the dogs if you ask her where they are
Will clap her hands. Loves "If you are happy & you know it"
Loves Peek-a-Boo
Likes when you read or sing songs to her
Is taking her pacifier less & less
Officially hates her bouncer. We packed it away.
Enjoys running with me as long as I have snacks (Gerber Puffs)
Screams, squeal, roars & grunts
Hate to get her diaper changed. It’s a battle now how fast we can change it or how much we can do by the time she rolls over & tries to crawl away from you
Can have such an attitude (aka Ava-tude) when she doesn't get her way. Will throw herself back or scream & clench her fits.
Her favorite toys or things are: stack-able rings & pink shoes. Will carry them everywhere. Tries to crawl with them too.
Gets into everything. We are in the process of child proofing everything.
We are letting her practice from a sippy cup. She thinks its pretty funny. Will put it to her lips & laugh. No luck yet.

Ava on the move

Ava is a baby on the move. This little girl is getting fast. We will put her down, turn for a second & she will be in the next room or trying to get into something she shouldn't be.
If she is in the kitchen she will go straight for the dog bowls or kitchen chairs. In the living room she goes for the door stoppers or the edge of the rugs. She also loves to try and pull up on everything.
I'm now constantly vacuuming, sweeping & mopping. We also started to take our shoes off before we enter the house.

Just a sad reminder that our baby girl is growing up :(.

CPR Class

Now that Ava is a healthy eater and sticking every little thing in her mouth. I though it would be in my best interest to get CPR certified. So this past Saturday I took a 4 hour CPR class. The class was very informative & hands on. We covered adult, child & infant CPR. As well as first aid for choking. I "think" I feel comfortable with the techniques I learned, I just hope I will never have to utilize them.

Sunday Football

Are you ready for some football...............

Well Ryan sure is! He loves the Dallas Cowboys, has a fantasy football team & a college pick'em. So on Saturday & Sunday's (if we are home) he will stay in the study watching football. He even has a special channel for Pro Football on Dish called "Red Zone".

This year though, he has a side kick. Ava was ready to watch The Dallas Cowboys with her da-dad. Too bad the lost...boo

Great Granny

Ryan's maternal grandmother (aka Granny) came in town for Ava's baptism & stayed with Rachael then us for a while. This was the 1st time for Granny to meet Ava. So this time with Granny has been very special for all of us.
Granny loved to watch Ava as she played & crawled around the living room.
Ava loved Granny's big pretty necklaces, ear rings & her glasses.

Baptism

Ava was baptised Sunday September 4th. We had the honor of Chava & Mary Guerrero (my aunt & uncle) accepting the role of godparents.

Ava was baptised in front of the full congregation during mass. I was so worried she was going to act up or (tmi) take a pop, but nothing. She was a perfect angel. We decided to baptise her in my home town where I had all my sacraments. It was a very special day for me & for all our family. Our sweet Ava was welcomed into the Catholic church. Then we had a celebration at her nina & nino (godparents) house.

It was a very, very blessed day.

Port Aransas

We had an amazing time with my family in Port Aransas. The weather was beautiful, the water was clean (like we could actually see our feet), the sand was fluffy, but most of all spending time with my family was priceless.
We went for a couple days (Sunday - Wednesday) & stayed at a condo right on the beach. Monday we all went fishing while Mimi & Ava spent the day together. The remaining time there was spent either at the beach or in the pool. ahhh! So nice & relaxing. I love island time. Ryan & tio Gabe even got a round of golf in.
Ava totally enjoyed time with the family & being on vacation. She was spoiled rotten. Stayed up way too late, woke up when she wanted, played in the beach & pool, had her 1st popsicle & strolled around shopping.

8 Months

**picture to come**

Clothes size: 9 - 12 months
Shoe size: 2
Diaper size: 3
Bottles per day: 4 8oz bottles
Solids per day: this girl eats it all. We have also tried some table foods.
Health: still healthy as can be. Ryan said she has those good genes from him. Since I'm usually the sick one or have allergies.
Routine: just pick up & go. No set schedule here. If she is hungry she will let us know & if she is sleepy we will put her down for a nap or for the night.
Sleep: she is back in bed with me (sign). I cant help it. We all sleep better when she is in the bed.
Bath: I have started taking her a bath in a bath seat. She loves bath time. I give her a few minutes after I bathe her to splash around and play.
Milestones: She went from laying down to sitting up & now crawling. Well....she will crawl "if" she wants a toy or something, but if she seeing us she will whine until we pick her up.
Trying to pull up on things
@ Ava: Has a little mohawk. Her hair has not grown in on the sides
Loves to babble...will go on & on
Will grab at anything given the chance (glasses, ear rings, necklace...loves shinny things)
Has started to fuss when in her car seat. We think she hates facing backwards. Her legs are starting to press up against the backseat
Is starting to be independent. If you are holding her & she wants down she will push off of you
LOVES her mama! Ryan says we need to cut the cord....I tell him never. lol
