BIG NEWS

Ryan and I are thrilled to announce that Ava will be a BIG SISTER!!! Baby Nixon #2 will be here April (due date 4/20). I'm almost 11 weeks. We are so excited to be expanding our family!!! I’m just hoping and praying for another healthy pregnancy, delivery and baby.
So far this pregnancy has been just like with Ava...no nausea, just a little tired and a few headaches.

As of now Ava wants a sister.

Sea World

On the road again…..
Gramps had to make a meeting in Port Land on Friday. So Mimi, Ava and I tagged along. We had every intention to visit the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, but rain  was in the forecast all day. So as soon as Gramps was out of his meeting, about noon, we drove to San Antonio. No rain was going to  put a damper on our parade! That evening we enjoyed dinner and walking the River Walk. Saturday we had breakfast at the Market and did a little shopping. Then it was off to Sea World!! We all had so much fun.  Ava loved getting her face painted, watching the dolphins in Azul, playing in the water park and watching  the killer whales in One Ocean.

Game Day

We had a weekend full of Texas Football. Ryan went to the UT game with a group of his high school buddies. Patrick is getting married in October so they celebrated the whole weekend in Austin. My dad and I went to the Texans game. Little Miss. Ava enjoyed some one on one time with her Mimi.

Equestrian Show

Lately Ava has taken a liking to horses. Dinosaurs are still #1, then horses, babies, bracelets, etc. So Saturday morning I took her to an Equestrian Center close to our house to see the horses. So absolutely loved it!! She would not sit down. She wanted to get as close as she could. She loved when a horse and rider would walk past us. She also kept screaming, “Mommy I want to ride the horsey”.  I would reminder her she is a little girl and can’t ride them yet. That is when she would cream, “Mommy I big girl. I ride horsey.” I just knew an all-out battle was about to begin so we left.

Family Reunion

We had The 1st Annual Delgadilo Family Reunion in Ingleside this past Labor Day Weekend. Mom, Ava and I had a GREAT time. Ava was a real trooper the entire trip! She kept saying “just the girls are on bacation, not the boys”. The guys missed this one due to The Villa Family Fantasy Football Draft.
As soon as we made it into town we went to my Godmother’s house where we were staying. Ava made herself right at home. In no time her toys were all over the house. Eventually we finally got ready to go to the party. Ava was not shy one bit. She jumped right in the mixed with all her cousins and 2nd cousins. She loved dancing and playing musical chairs. I thought it was really neat each of the 5 families made a family tree. Then 3 (Blue = Tia Olga, Green = Tia Lala, Yellow = Tio Barney, and Purple = Ofelia, my grandmother/mom's mother)of the living Delgadilo siblings spoke about each family. I already can’t wait for the next reunion!
The next day was full of family fun. Everyone came to Tia Olga’s for breakfast. Then we headed to the hotel pool for the day. That evening we all went out to eat and spent some last quality time together.
So after an eventful weekend and much less sleep than usual Ava passed out before 7pm when we got home and slept peacefully until the next morning past 7am. Poor baby was worn out from all the fun.
