Guess Who….

Pee Pee'd in the potty?!? Ava Girl!! I think it was just by chance that she needed to go & the potty was right there. But, hey she still did it!

Last night we were getting ready for bath. I had taken Ava's clothes & diaper off. I told her go potty, then turned to get her bath water ready. When I looked back Ava was sitting on the potty and going.

Way to go Ava!!!

Visting Mimi & Gramps

Ava loves going to my parents house. She is spoiled rotten there. She stays up too late, eats too many sweets and  plays in the back yard all day.

Too big, too fast

I cant believe how big Ava is now…seriously where did my baby go. Makes this mama really sad.

Ava is just the cutest little thing ever when she eats (minus the mess & sometimes lack of eating well). She always eats her fruit & veggies first (her favorite now is strawberries or peaches & cucumbers with ranch). If she wants seconds she will scream "morah." I will then tell her more what…..she will then say "pease." I will give her more and she will say "tank ooh." I have started to leave a napkin at her table & she will wipe her hands & mouth. Once she is finished she will say "bah" and raise her hand in the air.

Just love, love that little girl!!

Fathers Day

Father's Day card Ava made Ryan.
The inside said, "I love you to the core".

We started our Fathers Day festivities early and heading to Galveston Thursday for our second annual Nixon/DeKoch summer vacation. This year it was a family affair. We all had a great time. Our rental house was only a block from the beach. So we spent most of our time there. Ava loved it! She had a great time playing in the beach, running around with Heidi and playing with sand toys. Ryan and I also realized that Ava can be a little bully. Poor Heidi was so understand. All we heard all weekend was Ava saying "mine" or making grunting noises at Heidi and Heidi saying "Ava wont share", Ava pushed me" or "Ava isn't being nice". So I guess we need to work on sharing skills with Ava or start putting her booty in time out.

Connor's 2nd Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated Connor Hoolahan's 2nd birthday. I look forward to his pool party every year. It seems to kick off summer & we get to catch up with old friends (Ryans HS buddies and their families). This year was especially nice because Ms. Ava was right in the mix with all the other kiddos.

17 months

New with Ava:

Ava doing great in the toddler room at daycare. She has settled in just fine. I see her on the daycare cam just running around having so much fun through out the day. Her typical day consists of breakfast at daycare, then they move to the toddler room where she plays for a while until all the kids get there. Then book time, color time, dance time, sing songs, play outside, lunch, 2 hour nap, after noon snack, play time & color more then I pick her up about 4. I'm amazed how well she adjusted to sleeping on the mat. It took a couple days and now she falls asleep just fine.

Gymnastics is a hit! She totally knows when its gymnastics day. The daycare will have her dressed and ready to go when I pick her up. Once there she is so excited and heads straight to her area & waits for class to start. There are some days where she is so silly and I spend more time chasing her. Then there are days where she amazes me and follows direction from her coach so well.

We have become close to a few of our neighbors. Especially a couple that has a daughter only 5 days older then Ava. We all have such a great time when we are together. Ava & Emma are so cute together. I see them being future BF's. Ryan & Ricky have become drinking, grilling and sports watching buds. I love having Suzy to talk to about the kids & we have a ton in common.

Ava is still a very picky little eater. I swear she can live on chicken nuggets, hot dogs, cheese, milk, juice, strawberries and fruit snacks. I try so hard to introduce her to new foods, but she likes what she likes. I was actually surprised when we took her to a sushi restaurant. She LOVED edamame, but she had chicken nuggets & fries for dinner.

Our bed time routine has changed up some. We start bath about 7:30. Then we let her play or read to her and offer her milk. I'll ask her if she is ready to brush her teeth and go to bed. She knows exactly where her tooth brush is and we'll brush her teeth (I brush them 1st & let her try for a little while). She will hand me her tooth brush when she is all done. I'll then tell her its time for nighty nighty go give daddy a hug & kiss. She will run (I swear this girl never walks) to the living room to give Ryan a big hug & kiss. Then she runs towards her room & waves bye to Ryan. She still lets me rock her for a few seconds….maybe a minute before pointing to her crib or want down and stands by her crib.

This past month we had our 1st diaper rash. Poor baby had never had one and then got a terrible one. I think it was a combination of her teething & favorite food that week of strawberries & tomatoes.

Potty training…aka Potty sitting has become a game in our house. Ava is no where close to begin potty training. I just have a potty for her in the restroom to get familiar with the concept. When I go I ask her if she needs to. She will nod her head yes & tag along. She is too funny! Sometimes its a hit right smack on the potty & she will sit there & clap. Then others she is so excited she will sit down and completely miss the potty.

Ava has added a few more words to her vocab & has even started to repeat us some. I guess we need to watch out what we say.
