Royal Wedding

This morning Ava & I watched the Royal wedding of Prince William & Princess Catherine. From what I caught this morning it was gorgeous…she was gorgeous. I can't wait to go home & catch the rest. Yay for DVR!
When Prince Charles & Princess Diana married back in July 1981 my mom was pregnant with me. She was eating peanut butter & jelly crackers. When Ava is older, I will tell her we watched some of it together while I was getting you ready for daycare.

4 months

Time has flown by! I know I keep saying this & will continue to say it, but it has. Our Ava is growing up so fast.

At 4 months stats:

She is a healthy little chunk. I bet she is about 16lbs & 26 inches long. We have a doc appointment next week.
My main concerns are her weight & tummy time. She has great head control when we hold her & can move from side to side. Even holds head up good when in bouncer & bumbo. Just will not lift head during tummy time.
Wears:
some 3-6 months
Mostly 6 months
Size 0 shoe, about to be in size 1
Diapers:
Size 2 pampers - dry fit
Pampers regular wipes
No diaper rash - desitine
Hates to sleep in a wet diaper - will wake up for diaper change
Formula:
Enfamil Infant formula with size 2 nipple
6oz @ every 3-3.5 hours = @ 32oz
Early feeding @ 4oz (still gets up once a night/sometimes 2 to eat or diaper change)
3-4 @ daycare
1 at home
Started cereal - wasn't a big fan
- mixed with banana's and loved it
- mix a little bit of cereal in night time bottle
Health:
NO MORE BRACE
Has not been congested in a long time
Not sleeping with humidifier anymore
Her clogged tear duct cleared up shortly after 12 weeks
Daytime routine:
Week days
Up at @ 6am - either she is ready or wake her up.
Always in a good mood & ready to chat
Change diaper & wipe her down with warm cloth
Gether dress for the day.
Tell daddy bye-bye
Load up & out the door by 6:45
She sometimes will fall back asleep on the way to daycare, not always
Weekends
I will get her @ 6am & sleep with her on the couch/bed. She will snooze until @ 8.
She stays in what she slept in until Ryan & I have had coffee/breakfast
Takes a mid morning nap, a long afternoon nap, then a little late afternoon nap
After daycare:
Chat @ her day
Get diaper bag for the next day
Tummy time, mat time, activity bouncer, watch mommy/daddy in kitchen while sitting in bumbo
Enjoy time outside if nice & daddy is grilling
Feed her cereal @ 6pm
Might nap for 30 mins
Night time routine:
Starts @ 8pm
Bath
Massage
Dressed for bed - in onesie & socks/doesn’t like full night gown
Swaddle lower body in receiving blanket
Daddy makes bottle, turns on cd player & night light
I get situated on glider & feed her
Daddy gives her a good night kiss on the forehead
Either rock her till she falls asleep or lay her in the crib/rocker with pacifier & she will put her self to sleep
Turn on video monitor
@ Ava aka chunks, princess & love bug
A total momma's girl
Such a good baby
Loves to observe her surrounds
Great with large crowds & family events
Has been to a little league baseball game, parties, grocery shopping, shopping, but has not been taken out to eat
Loves her play mat & activity bouncer
Drools like crazy
Sticks everything in her mouth
Can pull out pacifier (wish she could find it in her sleep & stick it back in..ha)
Loves to chat
Tries to hold her bottle
Likes to stand in your lap
Makes eye contact
Grabs for & holds on to toys/objects
Gives big grins when excited & has even made high pitched sounds
Hardly ever cries. Only makes noises to let you know she it tired of what she is doing (ex: on play mat, etc) or when it time to eat
Hates to be in a wet diaper
Still hates tummy time = When on tummy scoots forward with her feet, not lifting her head
Not rolling over, just rolls to the side while on back.

Jam Packed Easter Weekend

Ava had the busiest weekend of her life, so far. My dad picked us up Thursday evening (Ryan had to work Friday). Thursday & Friday were pretty easy going, but Saturday morning rolled around & it was non stop till we left Sunday. Saturday bright & early we went to a Home Run Derby Benefit for Garrett (he was recently diagnosed with Perthes Disease & has to go to Miami to have surgery). The benefit was a huge success!. Then that afternoon we had The Annual Villa Family Easter Party at Tia Rosie's. Ava was such a good baby the whole day (positive it was because she had a long nap in-between both events). She was so worn out from the day she slept the whole night. Only the 2nd time this has ever happened (the other time was her 1st day of daycare). Sunday we were on the go again! Shopping with Mimi, daddy played golf with Gabe, & a nice dinner before we headed home. Thank goodness I took off Monday!

Orthopedic Specialist Appointment

I picked up Ava early from Daycare on Thursday. She had an appointment with her Orthopedic Specialist. The appointment went extremely well. We had a xray taken & follow up visit. Dr. Davino gave us the news we wanted to hear. "NO MORE BRACE!". He said her hip was right on & he couldn't have blessed it better with holy water. Ah….what a sigh of relieve! He said if it were up to him, no need to see Ava anymore. But he will send the results to our pediatrician & leave that up to her.

Happy Easter

Our little chunk had an Easter Party at daycare yesterday. I bought her a little onesie that said "My First Easter." She took plastic eggs filled with candy (I know, babies are too small to eat candy. It was the thought that counts & I'm sure the parents enjoyed the candy) & cookies for the teachers.
We have a jammed packed weekend with Easter Festivities. I will post all about it on Monday.

Have a Happy Easter!!!

Big Kids Table

Yesterday I noticed (on the daycare cam) Ava was sitting at the big kid (aka babies able to sit up) table. My little chunk is moving on up in the infant room. There are only 4 "infants" in there. Max the room can have is 6. One of the reasons I like this daycare. She is the youngest, but definitely not the smallest. There is a girl about a year now. When Ava 1st started Ms. Hibiba was helping her throughout the day & what do you know, she is walking & now all over the place. I can't wait till they move her up to the next room. Kind of scares me when I see her get too close to Ava. Then there is the only boy about 10 months. Poor little boy. I think his dad must dress him every morning. He hardly ever matches & needs his hair brushed. Then there is a girl about 6 months. Ava is actually the same size, if not bigger then her. Then there is my sweet Ava.
So…..now that she is more active I find myself watching her a whole lot more on the daycare cam. My co-workers will even stop by my desk and ask what Ava is doing.

What a wonderful weekend

We did absolutely nothing! We enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend at home. Ava kept us pretty busy and entertained. The highlight of our weekend was taking Ava to the mall to get a picture with the Easter Bunny.

On another note, it's Teddy's 6th Birthday today. We got our 1st fur-baby when he was almost 2. He has been a great addition to our little family. I couldn't image life with out my Teddy Muster. He is the perfect little lap dog...lazy, affectionate, easy to care for and a great cuddle partner.

This was Teddy this morning.

Sweet Ava Memories

Its so hard to describe how in love I am with our sweet Ava. I can't wait to get off of work to pick her up from daycare, the weekends can't get here fast enough so I can spend every minute with her, I don’t even mind that she still gets up once a night, I find myself always shopping for her & can't even remember the last time I splurged on me. She is so freaking cute at this age (and I know is just gets better).

Sweet Ava Memories:

  • In the mornings I will wake her up & she will stretch her little legs & arms out, wiggle around, then focus, and see me & give a big gummy smile.

  • If she wakes up on her own in the morning & I still need more time to get ready, I will put her in bed with Ryan & she will just babble away to him.

  • At daycare they call her "cheeks" & "angel"

  • When we get home from daycare I will ask Ava how her day at school was. She will just babble & go on & on.

  • She plays so well on her play mat. We will say "kick those legs, kick those legs" and she starts moving around faster. Sometimes she will even put herself to sleep.

  • When she gets hungry she will bob her head against our shoulder.

  • When she needs a nap she will get whinny. I either rock her on the glider, and she will lay her head on my shoulder/her arms around my neck, or I sit down with my legs bent on the chase and I rock her back & forth on my legs.

  • She loves bath time. I swear when I lay her down to undress her she has this look of relaxation. Once in the tub she just lays back & enjoys. I will talk to her & she will give me big gummy smiles. When bath is over, I massage her with lotion & she will babble a little more. But take too long and she starts to get feisty because she knows that bottle is next.

  • Once she is dressed for bed time, I get situated on the glider with her. Ryan will follow me in, give her a kiss on the forehead, tell her good night, turn on the night light, & turn off the lamp. I love to rocker her to sleep. She will drink her bottle & doze off. Sometimes she will wiggle around & want me to put her down. So I do & give her the pacifier & she will fall asleep. Other nights (and my favorite) are the ones she dozes off in my arms & I rock her for a couples minutes longer.

I just can't image life without my sweet Ava.

Activity Bouncer

I love watching Ava experience things for the 1st time. Picture 1 = Ava not so sure why I put her in there

Pictures 2 once music was on = Ava making noises & moving her arms up/down. She loves her new bouncer!

Art Work

Ava's weekly Art Work

Her lesson plan last week incorporated bugs, so her art work was a lady bug (in red/her feet) & caterpillar (in orange/her hands).
